We were talking about the main character, Paul, and how he might mature throughout the book. We also talked about "the spice", and what it might be. We thought it would be a drug that makes you live longer. We talked about how it goes really deep into politics and still be a sci-fi book. We talked about what mentats or freemans might be and what their traits could be. We talked about the voice and how it related to the jedi mind tricks from star wars. We talked about why they might filter out humans. We talked about what the emperor might look like. We talked about how it's rare to get a boy as a child in a book and why. We talked about the super killers and how they get them.
Today we discussed about how we thought doctor Yueh was mentally programmed to be a traitor. In conclusion of that question we figured out that he was not and that he is just abnormally good at hiding emotions and feelings which makes it harder for the Lady Jessica to figure out his true intent. After that we discussed about how the sandworms are connected to spice, and we didn't have enough evidence to figure that out completely but we have a few educated guesses. But in the end we discussed what spice is/does and how they mine it. We learned that its a kind of drug like cinnamon and that it can make you live longer and that you need to extract it from the sands.
